Nolan Gilbert
Founder/Director of Operations
Nolan grew up in a highly competitive athletic environment in Northern Virginia, where he was a three-sport athlete at Annandale High School. He was named a Top-25 All-Metropolitan Area (Washington D.C., Northern Virginia, Maryland) wide receiver in football and earned First-Team All-District honors in baseball as an outfielder, setting the single-season doubles record.
Following high school, he continued his baseball career at the University of Mary Washington (VA) and Montgomery College (MD) before earning a degree in History from George Mason University.
With five years of high school varsity coaching experience and ten years of private instruction, Nolan has worked extensively with pitchers and hitters, helping send over 20 athletes to NCAA programs. His coaching philosophy emphasizes arm care, motor preference, functional movement, and mobility training to optimize performance and longevity. By integrating strength, mechanics, and injury prevention, he helps athletes build a foundation for sustained success on the field.
Casey Peck
Softball Program Manager
Casey played for the Nevada Hotshots, a highly competitive travel ball program that competed across northern Nevada, southern and northern California, Oregon, and Washington. During her high school career, her team qualified for every regional tournament and finished as state runner-up in her senior year. That same season, she earned Second-Team All-Conference honors as an infielder.
She continued her softball career at Sacramento City College, where she played a key role in the team’s Big 8 Conference championship and their run at the State Junior College title in Los Angeles. Her playing career came to an unexpected end when COVID-19 shut down athletics.
After moving to Helena to work as a wildland firefighter for the DNRC, Casey shifted her focus to education and coaching. She is currently pursuing a degree in Elementary Education while serving as an assistant softball coach at Capital High School. In her first season on the coaching staff, the team tied for first in the Western Conference and went on to win the program’s third state title.
Kadeshia Dawes
Performance Nutrition Specialist
Kadeshia has always thrived in competitive environments, pushing herself to excel in every sport she pursued. At Powell County High School in Deer Lodge, MT, she was a standout athlete in basketball, track, and cross-country, earning the title of Powell County’s Female Athlete of the Year. She continued her athletic journey with a brief stint running track at Montana State before discovering her passion for CrossFit in 2014.
Over the past decade, Kadeshia has coached CrossFit, competing in high-level CrossFit competitions and national-level Olympic weightlifting meets. While her own training remains a priority, she has developed a strong passion for working with middle school and high school athletes, focusing on speed, agility, and overall athletic development.
Recognizing the critical role nutrition plays in performance, Kadeshia integrates it into her coaching philosophy. Her dedication to optimizing athletic performance led her to pursue a Master’s in Nutrition and Human Performance, as well as Applied Nutrition and Dietetics. Through her expertise, she helps athletes build stronger, healthier foundations for success in their sport.
Shelby Martin
Softball Pitching Instructor
Shelby grew up in Helena and has been a dedicated member of the softball community from an early age. While attending Capital High School, she earned three First-Team All-State and All-Conference honors, along with Second-Team All-State and All-Conference recognition as a freshman. Her standout performances also earned her nominations for Montana Softball Gatorade Player of the Year in both her junior and senior seasons.
Following high school, Shelby continued her academic and athletic career at Dawson Community College (MT), where she studied Business and excelled on the field. She was named a First-Team All-American as a Utility player and a Third-Team All-American as a Pitcher. She then went on to play at Montana State University Billings, where she earned a degree in Business Management.
With five years of experience coaching youth travel softball (10U–14U), Shelby has helped develop young athletes at various levels. Most recently, she served as an assistant coach for the Carroll College softball team during the 2023-2024 season.
Payton Vulk
Youth Baseball Instructor
Born and raised in Helena, Payton has been an active part of the baseball community since he was three years old. Alongside baseball, he also competed in basketball for eight years and football for six before dedicating his full focus to the game he loves.
Payton played two seasons of travel baseball, competing in tournaments across Montana and Washington, before spending five seasons with the Helena American Legion Baseball team. In the fall seasons, he played for Big Sky Baseball, where he showcased his skills at tournaments in Colorado, Utah, Washington, Montana, and Arizona.
As a lead instructor for our 15-week youth winter camps, Payton has been instrumental in developing young athletes. His passion for the game and commitment to player development make him a valuable part of our coaching team.
